Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Mongolia – Gateway to the Steppe
Your adventure begins with your flight to Mongolia, the Land of Eternal Blue Sky. As your plane descends over vast, untouched plains, you’ll feel the pulse of an ancient land unchanged by time. Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar, you are greeted by crisp high-altitude air and wide Mongolian smiles. After check in you will visit the museum of Great Chingis Khaan the rest day is free to rest from your journey and prepare for the adventures ahead.

Day 2: Into the Wild – Hustai National Park
After breakfast, we begin our journey westward through the endless steppe to Hustai National Park, home to the legendary Przewalski’s horses, so called takhi — the world’s last remaining wild horses. The landscape unfolds in rolling grasslands and golden hills where marmots and eagles roam. In the evening, we enjoy a traditional dinner at our ger camp and watch the sunset paint the park in amber hues.

Day 3: Elsen Tasarkhai – Where Desert Meets Grassland
We continue our drive toward Elsen Tasarkhai, a unique region where sand dunes, rocky mountains, and open steppe meet. After settling into camp, we take a short hike to explore the area’s historical and natural wonders, nomadic herding scenes, and panoramic desert vistas. As night falls, the Milky Way spills across the sky in breathtaking clarity.

Day 4: Hiking the Khugnu Khaan Mountains
Today we embark on a scenic hike through the Khugnu Khaan Mountains, a landscape of granite peaks and hidden valleys. Our 3–4 hour trek leads us to the ruins of Uvgunt Monastery, where Buddhist monks once meditated in solitude centuries ago. The hike offers sweeping views and a serene atmosphere. Return to camp for dinner and a well-earned rest.

Day 5: Ancient Karakorum & Erdene Zuu Monastery
We travel to the historic heart of Mongolia — Karakorum, once the capital of the great Mongol Empire founded by Chengis Khaan in 1220. We visit Karakorum museum. Explore some small ruins and visit Erdene Zuu Monastery, the first Buddhist monastery in Mongolia, surrounded by 108 white stupas. The site blends imperial history with spiritual tranquility.

Day 6: Orkhon Valley & the Majestic Waterfall
We head deeper into the Orkhon Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and cradle of Mongolian civilization. Our destination is the Orkhon Waterfall, cascading dramatically through volcanic rock. A three-hour hike reveals sweeping views and the raw beauty of Mongolia’s wilderness. Optional horseback riding offers a traditional touch to the day.

Day 7: Ongii Monastery – Traces of Time
Our journey continues south toward the Gobi region. We visit the haunting ruins of Ongii Monastery, once one of Mongolia’s largest religious centers before its destruction in the 1930s. Today, the site stands as a poignant reminder of Mongolia’s turbulent past, now slowly being restored by monks.

Day 8: Bayanzag – The Flaming Cliffs
We travel to Bayanzag, famously known as the Flaming Cliffs. Here, in the 1920s, the first dinosaur eggs were discovered by paleontologist Roy Chapman Andrews. The red sandstone cliffs glow like fire at sunset, creating one of the most iconic scenes in Mongolia. Evening at leisure under the desert stars.

Day 9: The Singing Dunes of Khongoriin Els
After breakfast, we drive 150 km to Khongoriin Els. Along the way, we’ll enjoy a trek through the Gobi Mountains, taking in the stunning desert scenery. After the trek, we continue a short drive to our next camp, where you can relax and unwind for the rest of the day.

Day 11: Gurvan Saikhan National Park – Land of the Three Beauties
We drive east to Gurvan Saikhan National Park, named after the “Three Beauties” mountain range. This vast park shelters incredible wildlife: argali sheep, ibex, gazelles. The landscapes shift from desert plains to rugged mountains — a photographer’s dream.

Day 13: Tsagaan Suvarga – The White Stupa Cliffs
As we journey north, we reach Tsagaan Suvarga, a spectacular natural formation of white and pink sedimentary cliffs eroded into surreal shapes. Locals call it the “White Stupa.” A 3-hour hike unveils the colorful strata and silent majesty of the desert landscape.

Day 10: A Day in the Gobi – Life Among the Dunes
Today we will enjoy Khongoriin Els, a unique landscape where green grass, sand dunes, and mountains meet. Depending on the weather, we can trek through the dunes or simply admire the stunning views. There’s also an opportunity to ride a camel across the sand. Afterward, we drive back to our camp to relax and rest for the evening.

Day 12: Yoliin Am– The Hidden Ice Canyon
Today’s hike takes us through Yolyn Am, the Vulture’s Gorge, a deep canyon where ice often lingers well into summer. The narrow, shaded valley contrasts sharply with the surrounding desert. Enjoy a view surrounded by dramatic cliffs and bird calls echoing overhead.
